Deepak Gupta

(Former MNRE Secretary, presently Director General, NSEFI)

Deepak Gupta, former MNRE Secretary Govt. of India and UPSC Chairman has been a source of Inspiration tor NSEFI. He presided over the conceptualization and implementation of India's National Solar Mission which is the basis for the latest ambitious target of 100,000 MW Solar capacity with 40,000 MW Solar Rooftop. He has rendered distinguished services to the country in his long administrative career and held many senior key positions in the Government of India.






Pranav Mehta

(Founder Chairman National Solar Energy Federation of India and Chairman Elect, Global Solar Council)

Pranav R Mehta, recognized as one of the top ranking Global Solar Leaders, is India's leading environmentalist and technocrat known for his social and environmental concerns. He is Chairman Elect of the Global Solar Council (GSC), launched at Paris during COP 21 Climate Change related events and Head Quartered at Washington DC, USA and Founder Chairman of National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), New Delhi.

He has made an outstanding contribution in India's solar growth starting from nearly Zero MW to now 24000 MW, placing India amongst the top five solar countries in the world.

He is a regular invitee in the World Solar Leaders Summit and Dialogues across the globe in different green energy and Climate Change related events where his emphasis on technology, Finance and R&D related partnerships as well as his slogan of “Solar Energy must move from Class to Mass" has been very well received and finds resonance instantly. Similarly, he is a regular invitee at inter Solar Europe at Munich Germany and the world famous SNEC event at Shanghai, China. As Such he has been invited by over 15 countries including China, USA, Germany, Spain, UAE, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, to share his views and has addressed over 250 conferences and workshops in India and abroad spreading awareness and emphasizing the important role of Solar Energy in mitigating the effects of Global Warming and Climate Change. He is a recipient of the National Metallurgist Award for his catalytic and pivotal role in establishing India's First Gas Based Sponge Iron and Steel plant at Hazira in Gujarat, saving millions of tons of carbon dioxide emissions, compared to conventional steel making.

Apart from his hands-on experience of implementing solar energy projects both big and small, he is advising renowned National and Multinational Companies and has been mentoring startups in the solar sector. A National Scholar throughout his academic career, he has industrial experience of 40+ years at senior corporate management levels in India's top-notch corporations like Reliance Tata Steel, Essar, GSPC, GllC etc. mainly in the area of “Concept to Commissioning" of NewTechnology Projects and Sustainable Development.

He will take over as full-fledged Chairman of the Global Solar Council(GSC) from 01 January 2019.

Sumant Sinha

(Chairman and CEO, ReNew Power)

He is the Founder Chairman and CEO of ReNew Power, one of India’s largest clean energy companies. It has more than 2,400 MW of commissioned and a pipeline of more than 1.5 GW solar, wind and solar rooftop projects, with funding from Goldman Sachs, ADB, and GEF etc. He is the Chair of CII Special Task Force on Solar Power. He is a B.Tech from IIT Delhi and MBA from IIM Calcutta, Master’s degree from SIPA and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Ashish Khanna

(Executive Director & CEO Tata Power Solar)

Ashish Khanna is the Managing Director of Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. - India's largest integrated solar company. He joined the Tata Group in 2007, held a series of leadership positions in Tata Power. Having been on the executive board ofTata Power Solar since 2013, he has significantly contributed to setting up and governing the organizations' objectives and policies. He is a mechanical engineer and holds a Masters Degree in Management & Systems from IIT (Delhi).

R Chellappan

(Managing Director, Swelect Energy Systems)

Mr. Chellappan started the company in 1984 and grew it to a size of 2600 employees. Under his leadership, Swelect was rated SP1 A by CRISIL and is an MNFIE accredited Rooftop installer and is empanelled as an ESCO (Energy Service Company) by BEE. He received “TRAIL BLAZERS - PATH FINDERS” award as an outstanding entrepreneur and TiECon Award for ‘The Entrepreneur of the Year 201 3”. Fl Chellappan is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer.

Dinesh Patidar

Chairman and Managing Director of Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd.

Dinesh Patidar is the Chairman and Managing Director of Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd –India’s largest energy efficient pump manufacturing company with global presence over 125 countries. He had successfully developed uniquely designed highly efficient solar-water-pumps conforming to MNRE specifications, which has become one of the key business drivers now. Now Shakti is a leading player in government solar water pumping projects in India and abroad apart from catering to open markets. Anil Jain

(Managing Director, Refex Energy)

Mr. Anil Jain is the Managing Director of Refex Energy Limited, a leading solar EPC services company in India which has commissioned more than 80 MW of photovoltaic capacity, and has another 50 MW capacity in pipeline. He has been instrumental in bringing together prominent industry players to formulate NSEFI and is committed to strengthening the solar energy sector.

Rajya Wardhan Ghei

(CEO, Hindustan Clean Energy Limited)

Mr. Ghei has experience of more than 20 years in setting up and heading business units in leading corporates. He has been responsible in setting up a large portfolio of solar projects across various states in India for Moser Baer Clean Energy Ltd. - now renamed as Hindustan Clean Energy Ltd.

Sundeep Gupta

(Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Jakson Engineers Ltd.)

Together with his brother, Sameer Gupta, he has built a company that has carved a formidable reputation in the market in the energy and engineering space. Having played a key role in building Jakson's solar business grounds-up, he is currently driving the company's foray into international markets and scaling up its solar manufacturing capacities. He oversaw the setting-up of Jakson's solar manufacturing plant in Noida. He is a graduate in computer engineering.

Brijesh Gupta

(CEO AMPL Cleantech)

Brijesh Gupta is the CEO of AMPL Cleantech, a corporate venturing subsidiary of Atha Group, Which is a 60 year old diversified Indian business house headquartered in Kolkata, with projects spanning across the country. Brijesh is currently responsible for AMPL's business operations. He has a work experience of over 25 years managing and execution of projects for top corporate houses in the country such as Lloyds Group, Raymond, ESSAR, Ispat and Adani Group.

Munjal Rangwala

(Chief Executive Officer - Harsha Abakus Solar)

Mr Munjal has several years of solar industry experience and was instrumental in setting up the joint venture with Abakus Solar. He worked at the consulting firm Accenture for over 5 years. Under his leadership, company has grown rapidly as a leading solar company which has further ambitious plans for growth in solar PV sector. He is M.S. Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and BE in Mechanical Engineering.

Simone Vercesi is the whole time Director of BLP Energy Private Limited, the Indian branch of Enel Green Power (EGP). EGP, the Renewable Energy division of Enel Group, is a global leader in the green energy sector with a managed capacity of around 40 GW and a presence in over 20 countries across 5 continents. During his career was covering several roles within the areas of E&C, Business Development and M&A and has been leading the Enel Green Power's entry in the Indian market through the acquisition of the company BLP Energy. He Graduated in Electrical Engineer at University of Pavia Italy.

Kerry Adler is a true visionary and trailblazer in the renewable energy industry. He founded SkyPower in 2003, which has reached 60+ countries, with over 25 GW of solar projects in various stages of development. Kerry was honoured with the Clean50 Executive Award, and many similar awards. Kerry studied at Bryant University and Concordia University with Marketing Economics (Honours).

Mr Ravi Khanna is providing strategic leadership and direction to the Solar Power business in Aditya Birla Group which is a US $ 40 billion group having core investments globally and a true Indian multinational. Prior to joining the Aditya Birla Group, he worked as the CEO and President of Scatec Solar AS, Oslo, Norway, a Director of Scatec AS, a leading Norwegian technology corporation and CEO of Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd., PV Technologies India where he created one of the fastest growing manufacturing capacities in Asia.

Shri Manoj Kumar Upadhyay

(Founder Chairman & Managing Director - ACME Group)

Mr. Upadhyay is responsible for strategic growth and expansion of the company in India and abroad. He has over 20 years of experience in the Power and Telecom Sectors. Earlier, he worked as Research Engineer and, later, as Technical Head with the Telecom Power Company, Benning Gmbh, Germany, Mr. Upadhyay successfully led the modification and adaptation of several critical Power Systems to suit Indian requirements.

Sujoy Ghosh

Sujoy heads First Solar India since 2012 and has developed and executed company's India strategy to secure a market for the CdTe Thin Film modules and create a portfolio of assets through self-development of utility scale projects. He is part of CII's National Committee on Renewables and has 25 years of experience in Indian utility sector, working with companies like GE and Tata Honeywell. Prior to joining First Solar, Sujoy was Regional GM (India/Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) at GE-Energy for their ThermaI and Wind power generation equipment business.

Shri Bipin Shrimali

(I.A.S., Chairman & MD, MAHAGENCO)

Shri Bipin Shrimali, I.A.S. is the Chairman & Managing Director of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO). MAHAGENCO has a Solar Power capacity of 180 MW and under the leadership of Bipin Shrimali, it has worked out an ambitious plan of implementing 25MW in the State of Maharashtra, India. MAHAGENCO has been assigned a special role by the Govt. of Maharashtra in implementing its solar policy with an ambitious target of 7500 MW. MAHAGENCO was selected as “Solar Project Of The Year 2015” by KFW for its 50 MW solar power project in Shirsuphal, Dist. Pune, Maharashtra.

Mr Rajiv Ranjan Mishra

(Managing Director M/S CLP India Pvt Ltd)

Mr Rajiv Ranjan Mishra joined the CLP Group in 2002 and responsible for asset management and business development of CLP's investments in India. He has over twenty years of experience in the power industry, both in India and internationally. Rajiv was Finance Director of Power-Gen plc's Indian operations a joint-venture in Seoul, Korea and on joining CLP became the Project Finance Manager responsible for the financing of the BLCP power project in Thailand, and continued as BLCP's Deputy Managing Director/Chief Financial Officer until July 2004.

Mr. Jayant Parimal

Shri Jayant Parimal is an IAS Officer (1989 batch). He has done his B.E in Electrical in 1988 from MNIT, Allahabad, CFA in 2002 from ICFAI, Hyderabad, Masters of International Law Economics in 2004 from World Trade Institute, Bern and LL.B in 2007 from Gujarat University.Mr. Parimal has worked in various capacities with GOG and GOI, till 2006. He is working as CEO (Renewable Energy) in Adani Group, looking after Group's Renewable Business. Before joining with Adani Group, he was with Reliance Industries Limited, as President (Special Projects) in Mumbai.
