Mr. Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, the CEO of NSEFI, discusses India's strides in renewable energy integration to achieve its Net-Zero Commitment. He emphasises the integrated approach of the Indian government, addressing decarbonization in electricity, mobility, industry, and agriculture sectors. He highlights India's carbon market advancements, positioning it as a potential global hub. India's commitment to an equitable and just transition is underscored, showcasing India as a leader in demonstrating domestic capabilities while urging developed nations to support an equitable transition. He asserts that India's per capita emissions are low, and the country has met its NDCs, emphasizing the global responsibility for climate equity, especially after COP 28. Overall, India emerges as a flag bearer for the global South in sustainable and equitable energy transition.
