NSEFI INDIA AGRI-PV FELLOWSHIP
About The Program
The NSEFI INDIA AGRI-PV FELLOWSHIP is a unique opportunity for young professionals/ young leaders across the nation to work in the intersection of Solar energy and agriculture sector. The fellowship aims to recruit outstanding young professionals from across the country who are passionate about working in the Agri-PV sector.
India is currently embarking on one of the biggest energy transitions journeys the world has ever seen. By 2030, 500 GW of renewable energy projects will make up over half of India's installed power capacity. India must optimise its resources and investigate cutting-edge technology in order to meet these lofty goals for renewable energy production. In India, the growth of renewable energy is severely hampered by the scarcity of land.
Exploring technology and solutions that can help maximise land use for many activities is essential to addressing the issues related to land acquisition. In addition, India carried the largest share of the world's food insecurity burden in 2017–19, at 22%.
A recent study revealed a pattern of agricultural land being diverted for renewable energy installations. Co-locating Solar and Agriculture is a clear-cut way to assure the spread of Solar energy, address issues with food security and land dispute, boost farmer earnings, and improve their quality of life.
With NSEFI India Agri-PV Fellowship, the fellow will get an opportunity to learn and develop sustainable, innovative, and climate friendly solutions for agriculture and energy systems.
